Since we've seriously begun to build our garden' s 'bones', the chickens have been relegated to one small area of the yard and I just feel awful about it. With so many young and tasty plants beginning to grow, this corner is the best place to keep them until the Fall. The Husband coined the chickens The Destructotrons, and it is a fitting nickname. One of our hens escaped from the pen a few weeks ago and proceeded to peck away at five Morning Glory and three Moon Flower seedlings in a matter of minutes. It is like she had a radar for helpless plants!
This weekend we are starting a new project which will involve building a proper gate and fence for the hens in the part of the yard I was certain was going to be The Moon Garden. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy some of the photos of the hens being their usual charming selves!
